Developing the annual school budget proposal is a year-round process that involves the Lake Pleasant Central School District’s Board of Education working with school leaders to develop a budget proposal that focuses on the sustainability of current programs and meeting the social and emotional needs of all students while continuing to maintain a conservative budget. 

Voting Information

Yearly budget votes and election of board members are held on the third Tuesday in May.  The polling location is the Lake Pleasant Central School gym. 

Absentee ballots are available for residents who are unable to come to the polls if they are out of town or because of health concerns, including but not limited to illness, disability or hospitalization.  Absentee voters must first complete an application.  To obtain an application for an absentee ballot, call (518) 548-7571.  If you want the ballot mailed, the application must be received no later than seven (7) days prior to the budget vote.  Completed ballot must be received by the district by mail or drop-off no later than 5 p.m. on the day of the annual school budget vote. 

Voter Eligibility

Voters must be U.S. citizens, age 18 or older, and a resident of the district for a minimum of 30 days prior to the vote.  Personal identification and advance registration are required.  

Residents who are registered with their County Board of Elections or who voted at an annual or special meeting of the school district within the past four years are considered registered to vote.

The Lake Pleasant Central School District 2025-26 Budget received 74 yes votes and 52 no votes, exceeding the simple majority needed to pass. 

The yes votes amounted to 58.7% of the total vote, the budget passed. 

The proposed bus replacement purchase passed by a vote of 92-34.

The proposed proposition to establish a Capital Reserve for Technologies passed by a vote of 95-31.

The Board of Education seat on the ballot was won by Lisa Johnson.  Mrs. Johnsonwas running unopposed and was re-elected to the five-year term with 102 votes.
