Churches

North Country Bible Fellowship was started in 1999 by Pastor Dick Snider and a handful of people. It was held in the Lake Pleasant Fire Hall but it moved to the Old Lake Pleasant School in 2002 because the fire hall did not have enough space. To the left is a picture of the congregation after the first year. To the right is a picture of the youth group having fun in the new school. The church is still headed by Pastor Dick Snider. Church starts at 9:30 am.

Grace United Methodist Church was built in 1909. The blocks for the foundation came from Sturges Mountain. The church was started by Circuit Riders. Circuit Riders are missionaries on horseback, and they often started churches. Two examples of the churches they started are the Grace United Methodist Church and the Lake Pleasant United Methodist Church.. The current Pastor is Campbell Laker. The church starts at 10:30. One of their main focuses is the Friday Bible Club from 2:30 to 4:00 pm on Fridays.

The St. James Roman Catholic Church was built between 1835 and 1840. In the 1990’s three large sections were added to the church. The current Pastor is Father Kelly. The church starts at 8:00 am.

The Lake Pleasant United Methodist Church was built in 1891. An addition was added on to serve as classrooms. Cambell Laker is also the Pastor of this Methodist church. The church starts at 9:00 am. At 10:30 am Campbell will go to The Grace United Methodist Church where he will then preach again. A lot of people have wondered why there are two Methodist churches just a few miles apart. When this church was built it was hard for people farther away to get to the church. Back then they rode in ox carts and other transportation systems that were very slow. It took people too long to get to church so they decided to make another one so people did not have to travel as far.
